Highlights of Harborough was originally developed in 2010 and was funded by Renaissance and The Market Harborough and Bowdens Charity to make images and oral history recordings more accessible.
Volunteers were recruited to compile oral history clips which related to museum displays before the transformation of The Symington Building and Harborough Museum in 2014. The oral history recordings were also digitised by the East Midlands Oral History Archive who also hold copies.
Selected images or ‘highlights’ were put onto Flickr and a digital map of the Harborough area was created. This is now being transferred to Historypin by our volunteers, so we can make it more accessible and allow the community to contribute. You can view our collections and tours below.
